Have you found your passion?
Have you discovered your purpose?
Have you heard and responded to your calling?
If you have, consider yourself fortunate and blessed.
Most people struggle with this.
Each of these words can be exciting and have its own magic. They can also be a bit of a burden.
“I wish I could find my passion.”
“I don’t feel like I have a purpose.”
“What is God saying to me about my life?” “Where is God leading me?”
Sometimes there’s a heaviness in the lack of clarity. “Why can’t I figure this out?” “Is something wrong with me?”
If you struggle with this, don’t be too hard on yourself. Give yourself some space to reflect and sort it out.
Passion. Purpose. Calling.
These rich words share the common ground of helping us work through our answer to that transcendent question, “Why am I here?”
Each word carries its own nuance.
Passion touches our emotions and speaks to those things about which we feel strongly.
Purpose addresses intention and the resolve of our will.
Calling implies one who calls and our faithfulness to respond.
You may find it easier to relate to one of these terms than the others. If so, my encouragement is to run with it. Go with what you relate to most easily.
On the other hand, you may have a way of synthesizing these concepts in your own mind.
The important thing is that we take the time to reflect on the meaning of our lives and why we are here.
Don’t put it off until you can “find the time.”
If you don’t take the time. You probably won’t find it.
Life has a way of crowding out such things.
